Jack C. Helgesen
Jack graduated cum laude with a degree in finance from Weber State University and received his Juris Doctor law degree from BYU Law School. In law school, he was an author of the book Summary of Utah Real Property Law, an editor of the book Utah Family Law Handbook, and an editor of the Journal of Legal Studies. He started his career in 1980 creating trusts and estate plans for retirees in Phoenix. Jack has been a leader among American lawyers. He is a former President of the Utah Trial Lawyers Association, and was a Governor (for more than ten years) of the Association of American Trial Lawyers in Washington, D.C., the nation’s largest trial lawyer organization. For more than four years he was a Governor of the American Association of Justice (Washington, D.C.). He is a Master with the American Inns of Court, and a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. With 40 years of experience in practicing law Jack enjoys continuing helping people create estate plans and wants to help your family.
Erik S. Helgesen
Erik S. Helgesen
Erik received a B.A. from Weber State and received his law degree from Michigan State in 2011. As the son of an attorney, Erik has been involved in dealing with legal issues for most of his life. While attending law school, Erik worked as a paralegal for HH&J, assisting his father Jack C. Helgesen with estate planning and asset protection. Through working with his father, Erik has acquired firsthand experience dealing with complicated estate planning and end-of-life issues.Erik’s primary focus since practicing law, has been in the areas of estate planning and asset protection, probate, guardianship and conservatorship, and other elder law issues. Having been mentored by his father, Erik brings knowledge and expertise to helping people create their estate plans.
